Full Description

The timber-framed rear wing of this house once continued further south to make a second room gable-end on to the road, probably an independent house of late 16th century, rather than the cross-wing to a medieval hall. A plan of 1790 shows it as L-shaped, and in about 1800 the front part of the house was rebuilt. At some time the western front room has been used as a shop, but it is now restore to a domestic function. (1)
