Full Description
Section of elevated tramway branch westwards from Black Brook Bridge to Brookside road crossing in Buxworth village. The embankment was built in the late 1860s, on dumped gritstone waste at the east end, and at the west end on a pre-existing lime-ash dump from the New Road Kilns. Drystone walls retain the trackbed at the east end. Lime ash dumps from c.1800; gritstone dumps and embankment from late 1860s. (1)
