Full Description

Buried southern mouth of a stone-built culvert beneath the Peak Forest Tramway trackbed, immediately west of a ruined lengthsman's house. The culvert carries a small stream flowing along a field boundary across into a leat where it enters the Forge Mill reservoir; it may have been cut deliberately to bring water into the pond. Built in 1794, then lengthened for the 1803 widening of the track. A galvanized tube section on the north side suggests recent repair. (1)
