Full Description

Slab culvert of box section running under the trackbed towards the west end of the sewage works; fed by a drain from the south, and apparently exiting via a piped culvert under the sewage works to a visible exit in Black Brook. Constructed between 1795 and 1803, and originally flowing into an open channel before construction of the sewage works in the 20th century. Presumed to have been drystone originally. (1)
