Full Description
Small roadside limestone quarry, disused and grass-grown, south west of main Loads Knowl quarry, adjacent to the road opposite the junction for Peak Forest Tramway branch. It may have had links to the Peak Forest Tramway, or relate to the construction of the quarry branch. It is small scale, with no obvious remains of a kiln for lime burning. It dates to pre-1879. (1)
