Full Description

A tramway branch from the Limesheds sidings complex running south and west past Quarry 9 to limekiln SMR 29967. The 1847 Tithe map also hints at a branch running immediately east of the limekiln into former quarry SMR 29966. There is no evidence of stone sleeper blocks in situ or re-used in walling. An early branch of the Peak Forest Tramway, possibly active by 1798, which accessed a limekiln south of Dale Road, and possibly with further access to adjacent quarries. (1)
