Full Description

Wagon Works, Whittington. Extensive complex of single storey corrugated iron sheds of around 1910 with later brick office buildings now (2000) completely derelict and for sale. Formerly rail connected from the Midland Railway Sheepbridge branch. (1) !st ed. OS 25" shows a small Railway Wagon Works on the south east corner of the site, which developed into Chatsworth Wagon Works as depicted on the 3rd ed. OS 25". Current mapping (2006) suggests that the site has been redeveloped. (2)
