Full Description
Colliery Housing, Holmewood. Colliery housing associated with the Wingerworth Colliery Company's Holmewood Colliery. Long late 19th century terraces with some ornate features. A public house - Holmewood Hotel - is incorporated in the centre of the main terrace. The area was the subject of a general improvement scheme in 1974. (1)
Houses not on 1st ed OS 25"; a few houses shown on 2nd ed.; 3rd ed. shows housing complete, with hotel and methodist chapels. (2)
