Full Description

Milepost. On the old Chesterfield-Buxton turnpike west of Chesterfield stands an undamaged cast-iron milepost. (1) Milepost on the A619 south-east of Wadshelf. The milepost has a cylindrical head around the top of which is written 'LONDON 155' and below 'BASLOW 4 / BAKEWELL 8 / BUXTON 19 / MANCHESTER 39 / CHESTERFIELD 4'.
