'Brick Field' is marked on the 1st and 2nd edition 25" OS maps, with a rail link to a tramway/mineral railway [SMR 11906]. Nothing is shown on Sanderson's map, and the brickfield is therefore assumed to postdate 1835. (1-3) At least some of the site was in use as a sewage works in the early 20th century. (4)
