Ice house at Allestree Hall, off Duffield Road, Derby, an early 19th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'The following building shall be added:- DERBY DUFFIELD ROAD (off) SK 34 SW Allestree Park 893- /8/10027 Ice House at Allestree Hall. GV II Ice House.Early C19.Built to serve the household of Allestree Hall.Subterranean vaulted brick ice chamber,circular on plan with a short vaulted access passage extending southwards to an exposed dog-legged entry with partially fallen brick flanking wall.There is an access chute to the north of the ice chamber, and a vent from the vault roof to the surface.
