Full Description

A newly uncovered 'Prospect of Derby from the East' shows early 18th century Derby. At the far left is Sitwell Hall, built in 1636, and later known as Babington House. (1) Babington House is shown in its grounds on the map of 1852. (2) Babington House is shown in its grounds on the 1st ed. OS map of c.1880, but not on subsequent editions of OS 25" maps. (3)
