Full Description

Rectangular milestone; dimensions recorded in May 2002 were: width 10½ inches, maximum height 17 inches. The visible inscription on one face was 'LONDON / 136 / WIRKSWORTH / 4'. (1) The 1st ed. 25" OS map records the milestone as 'Wirksworth 4, Belper 2'. However, the next two OS maps record it as 'Wirksworth 4, Derby 9'. (2, 3, 4)
