Full Description

In 1764 an Act of Parliament authorised the turnpiking of the road between Ashbourne and Openwoodgate. This ran in an east-west direction via Turnditch and Belper, joining the Derby-Sheffield turnpike [SMR 99044] at Openwoodgate. (1)
