Full Description

A milepost on the west side of Derby Road, in the village. It is cast iron with a triangular section. (1) A cast iron milepost with a triangular sectioned base. One side is inscribed 'WIRKSWh / 3 / MILES' and the other has 'DERBY / 10 / MILES'. Above is a sloping triangular top with an arched headpiece over, inscribed 'Idridge-hay / LONDON / 136 / MILES'. The milepost shows the manufacturer's name, 'J. Harrison / Derby'. It is 20½" wide, 8" deep and has a visible height of 34". (2)
