Full Description

Cast iron milepost, with a short triangular sectioned head on a plain column. The west side of the milepost is inscribed I raised lettering 'NOTT.M / 17 / RIPLEY / 3' and the east side has 'CROMF.D / 6 / CRICH / 1'. (1) Early 19th century cast iron milepost. It has a short triangular sectioned head with canted top, set on plain column with simple capital. Each side of the head has a raised fillet to the edges and raised lettering. The west side is inscribed 'NOTT 17, RIPLEY 3' and east side is inscribed 'CROMF 6, CRICH 1'. (2)
