Full Description

Cast iron milepost with a short triangular sectioned head set on a plain column with a simple capital. The west side of the milepost head is inscribed in raised lettering 'NOTT.M / 16 / RIPLEY /2' and the east side has 'CROM.D / 7 / CRICH / 2'. (1) The Milepost was erected in the early 19th century and made from cast iron. It has a short triangular sectioned head with a canted top, set on a plain column with a simple capital. Each side of the head has a raised fillet to the edges and raised lettering. The west side is inscribed 'NOTT 16 RIPLEY 2' and east side inscribed 'CROM 7 CRICU 2'. (2)
