Milepost near Ladygrove, Ripley Road, Ripley, an early 19th century structure. 'Cast iron milepost with a short triangular sectioned head set on a plain column with a simple capital. The west side of the milepost head is inscribed in raised lettering 'NOTT.M / 16 / RIPLEY /2' and the east side has 'CROM.D / 7 / CRICH / 2'.' (1) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 35 SE RIPLEY RIPLEY ROAD, LADYGROVE (north side) 3/109 Milepost at SK 369 522 II Milepost. Early C19. Cast iron. Short triangular sectioned head with canted top, set on plain column with simple capital. Each side of the head with raised fillet to edges and raised lettering. West side inscribed 'NOTT 16 RIPLEY 2' and east side inscribed 'CROM 7 CRICU 2'. Listing NGR: SK3695352118.' (2)
