Milepost, Wirksworth Road, Shottle and Postern, an early 19th century structure. 'Early 19th century cast iron milepost, triangular in plan, rising to a back plate with a segmental top. The top is inscribed 'Shottle / LONDON / 134 / MILES. The north side of the triangular section is inscribed WIRKSWH / 5 / MILES and the south side has DERBY / 8 / MILES.'
