Full Description

A late 19th century OS map shows 'Old Shafts (Lead)' present within the area of pasture fields. (1) A lead mining earthwork consisting of a shallow circular banked depression, measuring c. 0.5m deep and c. 23m in circumference with banks c. 0.3m high, was identified at SK 2798 5693 in the corner of a pasture field, associated with lead mining spoil heaps identified at SK 2794 5692. (2)
