Full Description

The 1st ed. 25" OS map of c. 1880 shows a brickyard on the east side of the Chesterfield Road at the northern end of Hardstoft. A number of rectangular structures of varying sizes are depicted. (1) The site is no longer named on the 2nd edition, so the brickyard had presumably gone out of use by the end of the century. A small area of earthworks are depicted in the centre of the site. (2)
