Full Description
[Area SK 145 677] Upper Notlow. (1). Knot Low near Flagg, listed as a barrow. (2). A low mound at SK 1462 6750 is probably the tumulus referred to by Bateman. Survey at 1/2500. (3).
This mound which looks superficially kile a robbed barrow lies on the line of lead workings, with partially ploughed out workings to either side. It is almost certainly a lead mine tip. The name Knot Low was probably postulated by Bateman on placename evidence only. (5).
