Full Description

Matlock Tithe Map of 1843 shows an small area within a field as being walled off and named 'Town Well'. (1) The well is not named on the 1st ed. 25" OS map, but is clearly depicted as a circular feature with a wall around it. An opening is shown in the wall providing access to the well from the field to the south. (2)
