Full Description

A milestone, in good condition, stands on London Road, Buxton. No inscription remains. (1) The 1st ed. 25" OS map shows the milestone as 'Ashbourne 20, London 158'. (2) The 2nd and 3rd editions have it as 'Stockport 19, Ashbourne 20'. (3, 4) On the line of the Ashbourne-Buxton turnpike road (west side) set into the pavement. (5)
