Full Description
Besthill Cottages are likely to have been built as worker's cottages for Besthill Mill (SMR 3682), the site of which lies adjacent to these cottages. (1)
Besthill Mill was a cotton mill that was built in 1784 and closed in the 1930s. (2)
The mill appears to have been demolished since its closure, but the cottages still remain. (3)
