Monument record MDR12424 - Ridge and furrow west of Abbey Farm, Churchtown, Darley Dale

Two separate areas of ridge and furrow earthworks are visible on aerial photographs in the field to the west of Abbey Farm. Other earthworks may represent headlands and there is some suggestion that these extend into the field to the north-east, although no ridge and furrow is visible there. In view of the low-lying position, it is possible that some of the earthwork may be related to water meadows although there is no firm evidence for this. (1)
