Full Description

Mid 18th century grotto constructed of red brick, coursed rubble sandstone and squared sandstone. The grotto is built into the bank at the side of China House Pond, with its façade facing the lake. The elevation was originally symmetrical, but the right hand part has collapsed. Inside is a semi-circular chamber with a brick half dome, originally plastered. (1)
