Full Description

This church is labelled Wesleyan Methodist Church on the 3rd edition OS map. (1) Most of the present day buildings at Grindleford originate from the time of the coming of the railway. The new population of commuters brought with them a newfound prosperity and needed better housing and facilities. A larger Methodist Chapel was built and opened in 1905 (see SMR 5522 for earlier Methodist Chapel). (2) The building appears to be still in use as a Church [2010]. (3)
