Full Description

Area of former ridge and furrow, northwest of Brough Roman Fort, Hope, of unknown date. The remains of ridge and furrow were visible as shallow earthworks in fields immediately to the east of Hope Shale Quarry in 2004, with further evidence identified by geophysical survey and confirmed by the finding of subsurface deposits in an archaeological evaluation trench. The land has since been quarried. (1)
