Full Description

The Primitive Methodists have a chapel in Somercotes, which was built in 1839, and was enlarged in 1852. (1) There is a Primitive Methodist Chapel situated here on the 1st edition OS map. (2) The Primitive Methodist Chapel is a very plain brick building, dating from 1839. (3) The chapel appears to have been superseded by a chapel further up the road by the 2nd edition OS map (see SMR 26014). (4) It is not known whether anything of the former chapel remains in the pair of houses that now occupy the site [2011]. (5)
