Full Description

The concrete remains of an infantry firing post with an anti-aircraft machine gun mount survive to the east of a modern depot at Harpur Hill. (1) A Type FW3/23 pillbox. This type of pillbox has an enclosed infantry chamber with a walled enclosure behind it for an anti-aircraft gun. (2, 3) A WWII pillbox (type FW3/23), sited above bomb store doors. (4) Infantry firing post with an anti-aircraft machine gun mount, above Mushroom Farm, Harpur Hill. Formerly RAF base and bomb storage. (5)
