Full Description

A Victorian post box, with the initials V and R on either side of a crown, is mounted in the wall of no. 18 Buxton Road, south of Furness Vale. It is a wall box type C (small) cast by W T Allen & Co during the period 1881-1904. (1) The letter box is not shown on late 19th or early 20th century Ordnance Survey maps, suggesting that the wall box may have been brought from elsewhere. (2)
