Full Description

Somerlea Park Junior School was designed by George Henry Widdows in 1924. When first built this must have been architecturally splendid, with its spacious, perfectly symmetrical layout, comprised of a long rectangular courtyard flanked by verandah wings either side, a large hall at each end, the arched entrance with flanking 'lodges' and all linked by covered walkways. Sadly a fire destroyed one whole wing and one hall. (1)
