Full Description
The milestone outside no. 44 Nethermoor Road, Wingerworth, is one of of a series erected for assessing the cartage costs for roadmending cinders supplied by Wingerworth Iron Works. It reads '2¾', which is the distance in miles from the Wingerworth Iron Company's ironworks in Storforth Lane, Chesterfield. (1)
