Full Description

There is a chapel situated here on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900 that is not present on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880. (1-2) It is labelled as a Methodist Chapel on the 4th edition 25" OS map of the early 19th century. (3) The former Primitive Methodist Chapel at Langley Mill still stands at the junction of Gladstone Street and Cromford Road, and is now used by a joinery business [?2008]. There are a number of foundation stones indicating that construction of the building started on 28th August 1886. (4) The former chapel is still standing and is used by a joinery manufacturer on Google Maps Street View [2011]. (5-6)
