Full Description

There is a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel situated here on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900. There is also a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel marked on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880, although it appears to be across the road from this one (see SMR 22010). (1-2) The Wesleyans rebuilt their chapel in 1891, at a cost of £1,160. It is a substantial building of brick that is capable of seating 350. At the rear is a commodious and well-attended Sunday School [see SMR 22011]. (3) The building is still standing and is still in use as a place of worship [2011]. (4-5)
