Milestone, B5056, Brassington, of 19th century date. 'The milestone stood on a turnpike road administered by the Haddon & Bentley Turnpike Trust.' (1) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 25 NW BRASSINGTON LONGCLIFFE 1/30 (North Side) Milestone II Milestone, C19. Dressed stone. Rectangular slab with shouldered rounded head. Inscription reading 'TO BAKEWELL 10 MILES' and 'TO ASHBOURN 7 MILES'. Listing NGR: SK2265055753.' (2)
