Full Description

Cast iron milepost, triangular in section, on the east side of Sydnope Hill. The sloping top of the milepost is inscribed 'N.D.U.D.C / SYDNOPE'. At the top of the mileages on either side is a hand with a pointing finger. One side reads 'TWO DALES / ½ M / WENSLEY / 2¼ M / (WINSTER / ..); the other side reads 'FLASH / 1 M / CHESTERFIELD / 6 M'.
