Full Description
Milestone in the grass verge opposite the entrance to Kniveton churchyard. It stands on the former Oakerthorpe-Ashbourne turnpike road, turnpiked in 1759. One side is inscribed 'TO / ASHBOURN / 3 / MILES', the other 'TO / ALFRETON / 16 / MILES / WIRKSWORTH / 6 / MILES'. (1).
