Full Description

There is a chapel situated here on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900 that was not present on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880. It is labelled as 'Chapels', which also refers to an earlier chapel across the road (SMR 23815). By the 3rd edition 25" OS map of the early 20th century, the other chapel has fallen out of use. (1-3) There was a Wesleyan Chapel in Borrowash that was built in 1825 [SMR 23815]. It was superseded in c. 1902. (4) It is still in use as a place of worship [2011]. (5)
