Monument record MDR13121 - Boundary stone, Derby Road, Ashleyhay and Wirksworth

Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

There is a boundary stone situated here on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900, so it presumably pre-dates this map. (1) A concrete post with 'Wirksworth' on one side and 'Ashleyhay' on the other side. It was perhaps a replacement of an earlier post. The post is situated on the east side of Derby Road, on a bridge. There is a slight chip on the Wirksworth side. (2) The boundary stone is still marked on modern OS mapping [2011]. (3)
