Full Description

A turnpike gate post that is allegedly originally from the Park Head area on the Alfreton to Ashbourne Turnpike Road. It is a stone octagonal post, and was possibly erected in c. 1759-60. (1) Looking at Google Maps Street View, this gate post is still located here [2012]. (2)
