Full Description

A tramway is depicted on the 1st ed. 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880 running betwen a brick and tile works and Swarkestone Road to the west, where there was a weighing machine at the roadside. (1) Before the tramway was constructed, the road was known as Wootton's Plaster Road and ran between Swarkestone Road and a large area of gypsum plaster pits. (2)
