Full Description

A polished stone axehead was picked up from a field on High Needham Farm in c. 1970. It is 145mm long and 68mm at its widest point. The blade edge is still clean, although there is some damage; the haft end is chipped, the top and bottom edges worked flat, with evidence of cutting activity through scratched on the blade. The stone is a grey blue, polished to a very smooth surface. Neolithic?. Donated to Buxton Museum, , EF 2673. (1)
