Find Spot record MDR13229 - Socketed spearhead, Peter Dale, Wheston

Type and Period (1)

  • (Bronze Age - 2350 BC to 701 BC)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

A Bronze Age socketed spearhead was found on agricultural land west of Peter Dale and south-west of Wheston. The record of the find is undated, and the grid reference [SK779 128] is clearly incorrect. Even if easting and northing were transposed, the grid reference is still at odds with the location of the findspot as marked on a small scale map (1:50,000?) attached to the record. The latter has been used to create the HER map point. (1)
