Find Spot record MDR13230 - Bronze palstave, Brook Bottom, Wheston

Type and Period (1)

  • (Bronze Age - 2350 BC to 701 BC)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

A Bronze Age looped palstave was found on agricultural land at Brook Bottom, north-east of Wheston. The record of the find is undated, and even if the easting and northing of the given grid reference [SK774 145] were transposed, the grid reference is still at odds with the location of the findspot as marked on a small scale map (1:50,000?) attached to the record. The latter has been used to create the HER map point. The tokens were given to Buxton Museum in 1996, Accession Numbers DERSB 100075.3 and 100075.6. (1)
