Full Description

Sheepwash Well with tiled canopy, supported on eight pillars. (1,2). A painted plaque inside the canopy reads :- "Erected in accordance with wishes of Lord George Cavendish for the benefit of Ashford by his widow Lady George Cavendish 1881." The pump is no longer in place, and the well has been converted into a seat, with a plaque commemorating ER II Silver Jubilee 1952 - 1977. (3).
