Full Description

According to White's Directory, the Wesleyan Methodists have a chapel in Whittington, erected 1828. (1) According to Bulmer's Directory, the Wesleyans built their first chapel in Whittington in 1828. A new one was built in 1894. (2) There is a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel situated in Whittington on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880, presumably that referred to by White in 1857. (3) The 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1900 shows this building no longer in use as a chapel. Presumably having been replaced by the one Bulmer mentioned as being built in 1894. (4) Modern maps show this building is no longer extant. (5)
