Full Description

Willington Bridge, Repton Road, Repton, built c1836. 'The construction of Willington Bridge was authorised by Act of Parliament in 1835, with the first stone being laid in 1836. The bridge and new road serving it were opened for public use three years later. Prior to this the river had been without a bridge crossing between Burton and Swarkestone. It was expressly stated in the Act that the new bridge would not be deemed a County Bridge.
