Ratchwood/ Ravenstor Lead Mine, Wirksworth was on of the most significant mines in the area active in the prosperous 17th century. (1) Raventor Mine (Lead) is shown near Middleton as disused on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880. (2)
