- ROUND BARROW (Bronze Age - 2350 BC to 701 BC)
Protected Status/Designation
- None recorded
Full Description
A possible round barrow was identified in woodland at Alsop Moor Plantation in January 2013. The earthwork is approximately 10m in diameter and c. 1m high, tree-covered and with a slight hint of a small central disturbance. The feature is well away from two lines of east/west mineral workings, lying south of them at about SK 1650 5728 and there is therefore no reason to interpret the mound as mining-related. (1)
